The Medici Villa of Poggio a Caiano, rebuilt by Giuliano da Sangallo for Lorenzo
il Magnifico, is the prototype of the villa of humanistic inspiration and
the most famous of all the Medici villas. On display in the interior, richly
decorated in the sixteenth century by major artists such as Andrea del Sarto,
Pontormo and Alessandro Allori, is a series of still lifes by Bartolomeo Bimbi,
among the finest and most famous of his production.
